I am Anne Hsu, a fabric and clothing designer, Indian fabric consultant, and life aesthetics lecturer with over 20 years of experience working with Indian textiles. My journey with fabrics began with a deep fascination for block printing, hand-dyeing, and traditional textile techniques, which led me to India, where I fell in love with the artistry, heritage, and soul of its fabrics.
In 2004, I opened my first studio, marking the beginning of my exploration into the world of textiles. Over the years, through experience, dedication, and countless journeys to India, I refined my craft and deepened my appreciation for the intricate beauty of Indian fabric traditions. A decade later, in 2014, Bidala was born—an evolution of my passion, shaped by time, experience, and a vision to bring elegance and artistry into daily life.
Bidala is more than just a fashion brand; it is a tribute to heritage, craftsmanship, and the seamless blend of tradition with modern living. To ensure authenticity and the highest quality, I established an exclusive fabric and clothing design factory in Jaipur in 2018, where we oversee the entire process—from fabric selection to production. Bidala offers not only exquisite clothing but also finely crafted textiles for the home, allowing Indian fabric traditions to enrich both personal style and living spaces.
Beyond design, I am committed to sharing the beauty of Indian textiles through fabric workshops, lectures on aesthetics, and collaborations with artisans. As a lifestyle traveler, I find inspiration in the colors of Rajasthan, the grandeur of historic palaces, and the intricate details of Indian architecture. To me, textiles are not just materials—they are a form of storytelling, a connection to culture, and a way to bring beauty and warmth into everyday life.
